Description

A terrace of three houses dating to around 1880, located on Front Street, Corbridge. The houses are built of squared stone with elaborately dressed ashlar detailing, and have a Welsh slate roof. A brick stack has been added to the right end.

The terrace is two storeys high and four bays wide. The third bay features an entrance to a yard, flanked by boarded doors leading to numbers 14 and 16, each with a five-pane window above. A corbelled-out first floor above the yard entrance has a three-light mullioned window, protected by a hoodmould. Above this window sits a rose window set within a coped gable, featuring moulded kneelers and decorative finials. The flanking bays have sixteen-pane sash windows, with hoodmoulds over the lower windows. The bay on the left end has a shared hoodmould over the doorway and the window to its right. The lower sash window in this bay has lost its original glazing bars; above it is a similar window under an ornamental gablet. All windows are set within chamfered surrounds. The left gable has a coping, and there are stacks along the ridge and right end.

The terrace is included in the listing for its group value in relation to the Panache restaurant.
