Description

Nos. 2 and 4 Newgate Street is a shop and flat dating from the early 18th century. The building is constructed of brick in English Garden Wall Bond and features a pantiled roof. It stands 2½ storeys tall and has four bays. The ground floor has a 20th-century shop front. On the first floor, there are two-pane sash windows with flat arches, and a string course runs along the second floor. The second floor also includes two raking half dormers. This shop is part of the larger group that includes Nos. 6-8 Newgate Street.
