Description
Nos. 6, 6A, and 8 Newgate Street are shops and a flat dating from the late 17th century or early 18th century. They are constructed of brick in English Garden Wall Bond and feature a pantiled roof. The building has three storeys and three bays. On the ground floor, there are two 20th-century shop fronts, which are separated by a six-panel door leading to No. 6A. Above these, there are 12-pane sash windows with wedge lintels and projecting sills. The roof is steeply pitched and has brick-shaped gables, with an end stack on the left side. The shop in No. 6 is part of the same shop as Nos. 2-4 Newgate Street.
