Stable/Dovecote 60 Metres South Of Ravenstone

This stable with a dovecote above was built in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble with tooled lintels and features a brick stack. The roof is made of Welsh slate and has a wooden cap. The building has an octagonal plan and includes a stable door with a low overlight on the east side, a 12-pane sash window on the north, a small 2-pane window on the west, and a 6-pane fixed casement on the south. Above the south side, there is a gabled slate-hung dormer that contains the dovecote door. A small projecting stack is located on the south-east corner. The cap of the dovecote has four tiers of paired pigeon holes, each with an alighting shelf on the south side, while the other faces have two raised lozenges within a stop-chamfered frame. The roof is pyramid-shaped and topped with a tall moulded finial.
