Description
No. 2 Studley Drive is a bungalow built in 1936 by M.P. Reavell for the Fountains Abbey Settlers Society. It is constructed from yellow Ashington brick in stretcher bond and features a pantile roof. The building has an L-plan layout with three bays. The central entrance has a door with a glazed top panel and a 12-pane sash window, flanked by two small windows on the right. The left bay projects and contains a 12-pane sash window beneath a gable with plain bargeboards. Each part of the roof has a ridge stack. The left side of the bungalow features a 12-pane sash window and a gable with plain bargeboards, while the right side has a boarded door and paired 9-pane shorter sashes beneath a similar gable. The three-bay rear elevation also includes 12-pane sashes. This bungalow is listed for its historical interest as one of the few unaltered houses from the 1930s Swarland settlement.
