Description
North Middleton House is a house built around 1830-1840. It has a rendered exterior with ashlar dressings and a Welsh slate roof. The building is two storeys high, with a front block that measures three bays wide and two bays deep, along with a large service wing at the rear.
The three-bay facade features an ashlar frame consisting of a plinth, plain pilaster strips, and a frieze. Within this frame, there are four giant Tuscan pilasters that support three segmental arches. The windows on the ground floor are 12-pane sashes with a sill band, while the first-floor windows have segmental heads that align with the arches above. A moulded cornice rests on paired stone brackets.
The roof is hipped and includes a large oblong corniced ridge stack. The entrance is located on the right side of the building and features a six-panelled door with a margined overlight, set within a Tuscan entablature.
Inside, the house has a staircase with a wrought-iron balustrade and six-panelled doors that are framed with fluted surrounds and adorned with paterae.
