Stone House, 200 Metres South-West Of Hackford Farm

Stone House, located 200 metres south-west of Hackford Farm, is a house that has been converted into an agricultural store. It likely dates from the early 18th century. The building is constructed of coursed rubble with long, roughly-shaped quoins and cut dressings, topped with a 20th-century metal roof. It stands two storeys high and has three bays. The central doorway has been altered and features a heavy block surround, while the windows, which were originally of two lights with chamfered surrounds, still have mullions in the first-floor windows of the end bays. The returns of the building show remnants of reversed-step coping at the gables. Inside, the roof contains two upper-cruck trusses with collars, two levels of purlins, and a ridge that is supported diagonally between the overlapped ends of the blades.
