Description

Turf House Farmhouse is a house that was remodeled in the early 19th century, originally built in the early 18th century. It is constructed from rubble with cut dressings and features a slate roof. The building has two storeys and three slightly irregular bays. The left side has roughly-squared quoins, while the right side has cut quoins. There is a left-of-centre four-panel door with a two-pane overlight, and to the right is a blocked slit vent, flanked by late 19th-century four-pane sash windows. The first floor has 16-pane sash windows. All openings are framed in raised alternating-block surrounds, and there are stone stacks at the ends. The left return, which is adjacent to a later farm building, displays an earlier steeply-pitched gable with reverse-stepped coping. Inside, there are two-panel doors in the west bay, which is part of the original 18th-century house.
