Description
The gate piers, gate, and screen wall at the entrance to Thirston House are a Grade II listed structure. The outer wall and piers date from the early 19th century, while the inner piers and gate were likely added around 1902. The construction features squared tooled stone and ashlar, along with wrought iron elements. The monolithic piers are panelled and topped with low pyramidal caps, supporting an openwork gate adorned with scrolled ornamentation. The quadrant walls, which have low gabled coping, connect to the outer piers that also feature similar caps.
