Description
No. 19 Bridge Street is a shop and newspaper office built in the early 18th century. It is constructed of painted brick and has an L-shaped plan. The building stands three storeys tall and features two bays. The left side has a 19th-century shop front, while the right side includes a round-arched entry leading to Herald Office Yard. Above the entry, there are two-pane sash windows in their original openings, topped with flat arches. The roof is steeply pitched and covered with pantiles.
At the back, there is a long three-storey wing with irregular openings, including a large 48-pane stair window, as well as 20-pane and 16-pane sash windows. This section also has a steeply pitched roof with a crow-stepped gable.
