Description
High Stonecroft House is an early 19th-century house that was extended in the later 19th century. It is constructed of stone, featuring raised ashlar quoins, with a rubble right bay and back. The house has a slate roof and ashlar corniced gable stacks. The front elevation has two storeys and three bays, with a later 19th-century bay slightly set back to the right. The main section includes a central four-panelled door with a four-pane fanlight, all set in a raised surround with a cornice supported by moulded brackets. Flanking the door are 12-pane sash windows, with three similar windows on the first floor. The later bay features a ripartite sash window on the ground floor and a margined sash window above. All windows have raised surrounds and slightly projecting sills. The right return has a door with a tall margined fanlight in a raised surround. The rendered left return has a replaced sash window in a raised surround on the first floor, situated above a later greenhouse. At the rear, there is a round-headed stair window with radial glazing, along with various other windows that have raised surrounds.
