Description
Appletrees is a house, originally a pair of houses, built in the early 19th century. It is constructed of rubble with cut dressings and has a Welsh slate roof. The south elevation features two storeys and is divided into six bays, three on the left and three on the right. On the left end, there are 20th-century French windows set under a segmental-headed arch, which is framed by a re-set late 17th-century door surround from the old Beaufront Hall. This surround includes fluted Ionic columns, a cornice, and a broken scrolled pediment. On the right end, there is a 20th-century glazed door within an alternating-block surround. The house has Yorkshire sash windows, with 12 panes on the left side and 16 panes on the right, both featuring slightly projecting sills. The gables are coped, and there are stacks at both ends and along the central ridge.
