Description
The terrace wall to the south of Beaufront Castle was built around 1840 by John Dobson. It is constructed from tooled-and-margined stone with ashlar dressings and features cast-iron railings. The main terrace wall, which faces the house, consists of 10 bays, with projecting 3-bay sections at each end. The wall includes tapering pilaster buttresses that rise above the parapet as square piers with chamfered caps. Between the piers, the railings have ball-topped standards, and there are gadrooned urns on the end piers. To the right, there is a lower wall with chamfered coping that slopes alongside adjacent steps, ending in another projecting 3-bay section that has lost its railings.
