Description
The village well, located in Sandhoe, dates from the late 19th century to early 20th century and incorporates older architectural fragments. It is constructed from cut stone and features a central trough that is flanked by stone seats. The seats have scrolled consoles repurposed as arm rests. Above the trough, there is a coat of arms surrounded by scroll ornamentation, as well as large acorn finials and pineapple finials at the ends of the seats. The reused materials likely originate from the late 17th century Beaufront Hall.
