Description

The screen with gateway, gates, and railings located to the north of Beaufront Castle stable court was built around 1840 by John Dobson. It is constructed from tooled-and-margined ashlar and wrought iron. The central gateway features piers topped with crenellated caps that support late 17th century stone statues. The attached jambs hold double gates adorned with fleur-de-lys standards and a latticed lower rail. Similar railings are found on either side, set on a dwarf wall with chamfered coping.
