Description
This listing describes a group of four headstones located approximately 10 yards south of the Church of All Saints.
The first headstone is for the daughter of Jane Dixon, dated 1783, made of sandstone. It features a scrolled pedimented top that holds an angel and is surrounded by an architrave.
The second headstone, dating from the mid-18th century, also made of sandstone, has a scrolled pedimented top with an angel and a shell. Below, there is a recessed panel with an enriched moulded surround, although the inscription is worn.
The third headstone commemorates William Robson and dates from the mid-18th century. It has a scrolled pedimented top holding a shell, with a recessed panel beneath that features an angel, festoon, and symbols of eternity.
The fourth headstone, dating from the 18th century, has a scrolled pedimented top with a shell and an angel, and it includes an inscription in a cartouche below, though the inscription is worn.
