Description
Highford Bridge is a bridge constructed in 1830. It is made of squared tooled stone with decorative dressings. The bridge features three segmental arches, with the central arch being slightly taller than the others. It has triangular cutwaters, arch rings, and a band below the parapet. The parapet has gently sloped coping, while the approach walls and terminal piers are flat-coped and topped with low pyramidal caps. On the internal face of each parapet, there are badly worn inscribed panels in a moulded surround; the northern panel reads 'THIS BRIDGE ......... (PU)BLIC SUBSCRIP(TION) .......... 50'.
