BRINKBURN BRINKBURN PRIORY NZ 19 NW 10/75 Tunnel 50 metres east of Priory Church GV II

Artificial tunnel, probably a grotto or folly. Late C18 or early C19. Roughly-squared stone. L-plan. Short barrel-vaulted passage 1.8 metres high runs north then turns east through longer, slightly larger tunnel to exit; overall length c.22 metres.

Not genuinely subterranean; constructed in a dug trench, and infilled above vault.
