Description

This is a pair of early 19th century terraced houses, part of the Howick Street development built around 1831 on land formerly belonging to General Lambert. The houses are located at Percy Street and also include number 25 Green Batt. They demonstrate group value in their cohesive design.

The houses are three storeys high with three windows facing east and three facing north. They are constructed with ashlar stone facades, featuring stone bands at the sills of the first and second floors. A decorative mutule eaves cornice runs along the top of the building. The roof is hipped at the corner, covered with slate, and features three brick chimneys. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars, and each has a keystone above the ground-floor openings. Round-headed doorways are present on both street frontages, constructed with prominent quoins and voussoirs, and contain six-panel doors with fanlights above. A tall lead rainwater pipe has a decorative head. The first-floor cill band is inscribed with the words "Percy Street".
