Stationmaster's House, c1832, taller rear block mid-C19. Possibly by Benjamin Green for the Newcastle and Carlisle Railway. Tooled-and-margined stone with dressings; slate roof. Chamfered plinth. North (platform) elevation 1 storey + attic, in 2 sections. Right part 3 bays; renewed door to right, tall 2-light mullioned windows with renewed 12-pane sashes; above centre window inserted dormer on corbels with 2-light window and steep coped gable with moulded kneelers and block finial. End gables coped with stacks, each with twin octagonal shafts. VR letter box between door and centre window. Gabled bay to left has renewed door with 2-light window on right, coped gable. All openings in chamfered surrounds windows and hoodmoulds. Rear elevation 2 storeys, 2 bays; off-centre renewed door in chamfered surround and late C19 4-pane sashes.
