Description
Sturton Grange Farmhouse is a house built in the late 18th century. It is constructed of brick in an irregular stretcher bond, featuring a cut sandstone plinth and dressings, while the rear elevation is rendered. The roof is made of Welsh slate and has 20th-century brick stacks. The house has a double-depth plan and the south front is two storeys high with three symmetrical bays. It has a chamfered plinth and rusticated quoins, with two steps leading up to a renewed central door and 12-pane sash windows. All openings are framed in raised tooled stone surrounds, and there is a moulded eaves cornice and coped gables, with rebuilt end stacks. The right return has similar window arrangements and two small circular openings in the attic. The left return mirrors this, except the ground floor of the left bays is blind. The rear elevation features an arched stair window with a radial-headed 12-pane sash.
