Description
Twizell North Lodge is a lodge built in the mid to late 19th century, constructed from ashlar stone and topped with a Welsh slate roof. Designed in the Tudor style, it stands two storeys high and features three bays. The central entrance is marked by a two-storey porch supported by square piers, which has a pulvinated frieze adorned with stylized triglyphs and a cornice. Above the porch is a 4-light mullioned window, topped with a scrolled pediment that holds an obelisk. The gabled top of the porch includes kneelers and a ball finial. On either side of the porch, there are flanking 3-light windows with floating cornices. The eaves are supported by iron brackets. The steeply-pitched gabled roof is detailed with kneelers, flat coping, ball finials, and a tall, square, corniced ridge stack. Additionally, there are 4-light windows on the returns of the building.
