Description

The Market Cross stands in the north-east corner of Market Place. It incorporates an octagonal plinth and eight steps, built upon the foundations of an earlier cross located on the same site. The cross has an octagonal shaft and a head formed by lozenge-shaped blind tracery panels. Crescents and manacles are positioned at the cardinal points of the necking.
