Description

The building is a former electricity generating house, now used as a cottage, constructed in 1902 by Deas. It features irregular dressed stone and a slate roof, with a square plan topped by an ogival pyramid roof that has a distinctive finial inspired by contemporary generating equipment. On the entrance front, there is a semi-octagonal turret with a projecting upper stage and a swept pyramidal roof. The other three sides of the building have gabled dormers that break the eaves, and there are twin casements on the ground floor.
