Description
The shelter shed, located 50 metres north of the drive to Fallodon Hall, dates from the late 18th century or early 19th century. It is constructed from rubble with cut sandstone quoins and dressings, topped with a Welsh slate roof. The building has a broad rectangular plan divided by an axial wall, with both sides featuring a 3-bay segmental arcade. The roof is hipped, and many of the cut dressings display mason's marks. This structure is an example of a distinctive local type of shelter shed.
