Description

The garden wall to the east of Bilton House is likely from the second quarter of the 19th century. It is constructed of squared rubble with cut quoins and dressings. The wall features a short quadrant-curved section that connects to the southeast corner of the east range of yard buildings, followed by a long straight section that runs east, backing onto the roadside garden. The main part of the wall stands 3 metres high and has a flat coping. At the mid-length of the wall, there is a vertical-panelled door set within an alternating-block surround. This structure is included for its group value.
