Description
The former workhouse and keeper's house, built in 1870 by G. Richardson and W. Wallace, is a three-storey building with a gable-lit attic and five bays. It features an ashlar façade with a moulded eaves cornice, a slate roof with raised verges, and brick gable end chimneys. The windows are glazing bar sash windows, with single hung windows on the first floor. The end bays have been altered to include large goods doors. In the centre, there are two doorways, one of which has a round-head. The former keeper's house, located to the south-west of the main building, is older and consists of two storeys with seven windows. Its front is made of ashlar, while the rear is constructed of rubble.
