Description

The Sebastopol Gun is a field gun from the late 18th century to early 19th century, made of gun metal. It is mounted on a two-wheeled gun carriage, which is attached to two concentric circular concrete steps. This gun was captured from the Russian army during the siege of Sebastopol, which took place from 1854 to 1856. In 1857, it was presented to Hartlepool Borough Council by Lord Panmure.
