Description
Farm buildings located to the north of Low Walworth Farmhouse date from the late 18th century and 19th century. They are constructed from squared and coursed rubble limestone and feature pantiled roofs, with some sections having stone-flagged eaves. The layout is linear, consisting of a threshing barn with a gin-gang at the front, a barn with a shelter shed on the left side, and an L-shaped range on the right side.
The former threshing barn is two stories high and has altered openings and breathers on the front, with two large openings at the rear. It features pigeon holes and ledges on the right gable, and the roof has coped gables. The large square-plan gin-gang has rectangular piers and later infill walls, with a hipped roof over the front.
The two-story, three-bay barn has tooled quoins and an external stone stair leading to a boarded door, along with two replaced casements with projecting sills at the rear. Its roof is hipped on the left side. The shelter shed at the front of the barn has a low front wall, while the rear wall includes two round-arched openings, and the roof is supported on stone piers.
Additionally, there is an L-shaped single-story range of loose-boxes and byres. The front range has three partly-blocked elliptical archways, and the return range features a central Dutch door. The roof has flagged eaves on the yard side only. These buildings are included for their group value.
