Description
Deer House, located south of Hall Garth, is a former deer house that now serves as a shelter shed. It dates from the late 18th century to the early 19th century and is constructed of squared limestone with a corrugated asbestos roof, showcasing a Gothick style. The building features two 4-centred openings with flush voussoirs on either side of a rectangular pier. Above each section, there is an impost band with a single breather. The wide gable has flat-coped crowsteps and a blind quatrefoil within a circle below the apex. Flanking the main structure are round towers that include blind cross-loops, decorative bands, and corbel tables. These towers originally had embattled parapets. The 4-bay return walls also have cross-loop breathers, and the crowstepped rear gable includes two rows of breathers.
