Description

Mill Bridge, built in 1861 as indicated by a plaque on the west parapet, crosses a former mill pond. It is constructed from squared rock-faced limestone, with both sides appearing similar. The bridge is approximately 40 meters long and features three widely spaced semicircular arches, each with projecting tooled-and-margined voussoirs. Between the arches are small triangular-plan cutwaters. The parapet, which is marked by a band at road level, has rounded coping stones. At either end, there are low square-plan piers topped with pyramidal caps. This bridge spans the parishes of Brafferton and Coatham Mundeville.
