Description

Danesmoor is a two-storey villa built in the third quarter of the 19th century. It features three irregularly placed windows and is constructed from local pinkish brick. The building has a plinth coping, a first-floor band that is pierced and dentilled, and a stepped and dentilled eaves cornice, all made of red brick. The roof is fairly low pitched and hipped, covered with slate and adorned with elaborate iron ridge end finials.

The villa has stone lintels and cills above its sash windows. The left bay of the building projects, while the rest of the front showcases an arcaded loggia with four bays, made from patterned cast iron. This loggia includes piers and rail featuring anthemion and palmette motifs, as well as medallions in the frieze. An ogee swept lead hood covers the loggia, which is accessed by four steps. The door within the loggia has a beautifully engraved naturalistic glass panel.

On the south side, there is a large conservatory that also features ornamental ironwork. A large sundial is positioned on the wall between two first-floor windows. The property is noted primarily for its ironwork.
