Description
This is a limekiln located north of High Greenfield, dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed from sandstone and limestone rubble. The kiln features a tall corbelled structure with a flat stone lintel, and it has front and side retaining walls that are set into the hillside. The interior of the kiln steps down from the top front to a small square opening at the rear, supported by a series of lintels. At the time of the survey, the kiln was partly derelict.
