Description
The farm buildings attached to the west of Alwent Hall are a barn and loose-boxes, dating from the early to mid-19th century. They are constructed from sandstone rubble with dressed quoins and feature pantiled roofs. The barn is L-shaped and two stories high, with five bays. It includes a double row of breathers and a first-floor Dutch door at the rear.
There is an additional building attached to the rear, currently used as loose-boxes but possibly originally a horse-gin. This structure is single storey, with a 20th-century vehicle opening on the left side and a single hit-and-miss window on the right. Both ends of this building have stout central piers, and the rear gable may have been rebuilt. These buildings are included for their group value. Detached farm buildings to the left are not considered of special interest.
