Description

These are two houses, dating from the mid to late 18th century. They are built of dull red brick with a tooled stone plinth, and have Welsh slate roofs and brick stacks. Number 6 is slightly taller than Number 5, with each house originally featuring one or two bays. Horizontal bands run across the facades of the houses. Both have 6-panel doors with overlights set within wood architraves, topped by bracketed cornice hoods. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars, set into stuccoed reveals with stone sills. The first-floor window of Number 5 is tripartite. A large oriel window, inserted in the late 19th century, has replaced the original first-floor windows of Number 6. The stack for Number 5 is placed behind the roof ridge, while the stack for Number 6 is at the right end of the building.
