Description
This group of tombstones, located approximately 50 metres north-west of Dairy Bridge, features stones from various dates. The most significant is a recumbent coped slab, likely from the 12th century, which displays an expanded-arm cross on one side and a pair of shears on the other. A few metres to the west, there is a small collection of headstones, mostly broken or fallen, dating from the 17th century and early 18th century, with few remaining legible inscriptions. This group is historically important as it marks the site of the medieval church of Rokeby, which was replaced by the current St. Mary's Church in the mid-18th century.
