Description

Howlea Bridge over Bedburn Beck is a bridge, likely built in the late 18th century. It is constructed from sandstone rubble with ashlar dressings. The bridge features a recessed segmental arch with voussoirs. The rubble parapets are slightly raised over the center of the arch, following the line of the road bed, and it has probably been altered from its original hump-back design. The coping of the parapet is block-shaped.
