Description
This milestone, located 120 metres east of Near Crookburn Sike, is a Grade II listed structure from probably the late 19th century. It is made of painted stone and stands about 0.6 metres high, featuring a roughly-finished round top. The front of the milestone displays the names "ALSTON" and "MIDDLETON" painted in black capital letters. Unlike other milestones along the B6277, which are placed at 2-mile intervals with even numbers, this milestone is likely a later addition to the sequence.
