Description
This is a water hydrant located north of number 12 on the west side of The College in Durham and Framwellgate. It dates from the early 19th century and is made of cast iron. The hydrant features a fluted tapered column topped with a square cap and a domed cover, which is attached by a chain. The foundry mark may indicate it was made by G.E. Enfield Iron Company.
