Description
The gate piers, quadrant walls, gates, and overthrow located north of the Church of St Luke were likely constructed around 1853 by G. Pickering. They feature coursed squared sandstone walls with ashlar quoins, coping, and piers. The wrought iron gates and overthrow complement the structure. The short walls have quoins where they meet the rubble continuation. The octagonal piers are designed with plinths, cornices, and high pointed coping that sweeps upward. The elliptical overthrow includes wide spirals that rest on the piers, topped with a square lamp-holder.
