Description
This is an outbuilding located to the south of Prospect House, likely built in the early 19th century. It features coursed squared sandstone with ashlar and yellow brick dressings, topped with a Welsh slate roof. The building is arranged in an L-plan and consists of two storeys with two bays and one wide bay, along with a left pent extension.
The two-bay section includes a wide segmental vehicle entrance on the left, which has a brick arch and stone block jambs. Above this entrance, there is a boarded loft door on the left and a fixed light with glazing bars on the right, both featuring flat stone lintels and projecting stone sills. The right bay is defined by two slender round cast iron columns on low stone walls that flank a central entrance. The left pent extension has a boarded section above an open door, while the right wing, which breaks forward, contains a ground-floor boarded door and a loft door above, both with stone lintels and jambs. The roofs are hipped. This outbuilding is included for its group value, although the front right lean-to extension is not of interest.
