Description
This is a barn and shed located to the east of High Houghall farmhouse, likely built in the early 17th century with some alterations. The structure is made of large rubble sandstone that is roughly coursed and squared, featuring larger quoins. The shed has some brick rebuilding, and both roofs have been renewed with asbestos sheeting. The barn is a single storey with two bays, displaying triangular ventilation holes in the return gable ends and a pitching hole in the left gable peak. The front of the barn is damaged, showing large holes at the time of the survey. An L-plan, one storey shed is attached to the north, completing the layout and enclosure of the farmyard.
