Description
This is a pump dated 1839, located approximately 20 metres north-west of Friar's Cote Farmhouse. It was commissioned for J.B. (John Bowes of Streatlam Castle). The pump features a lead spout and a tall wooden casing. The casing has a curved iron handle on the right side and a front panel that is moulded in a square shape. The initials "I" and "B" are displayed in the top corners of the panel, with the date "1839" positioned below the slightly curved spout.
