Description
This description is for a pair of gate piers and gates located 15 metres west of Nesbitt Hall. The gate piers date from the mid-18th century, while the gates are from the mid-19th century. The piers are made of partly-rendered limestone ashlar and stand about 3.5 metres tall. They feature square plans, chamfered rustication, corniced caps, and ball finials. The gates are constructed from wrought iron and have cast-iron finials, with a design that includes alternating long and short spearhead standards and a dog rail. These structures are included for their group value. The attached garden walls are not considered of special interest.
