Description

Hutton House is a house dating to circa 1824, commissioned for the Reverend Thomas A. Slater. The house is constructed of narrow, handmade red brick in English bond, with a green slate roof and rebuilt brick stacks. It is two storeys high and comprises three bays, with a stone plinth. The central entrance features a six-panel double door and a radial fanlight, set within a 20th-century gabled glazed porch. Above the door is a twelve-pane sash window with a projecting sill. Flanking the central bay are two shallow, two-storey bowed bays, each containing a bowed sixteen-pane sash window with a projecting sill. The roof has coped gables, shaped kneelers, and end chimneys. The rear elevation has a central round-arched stair window. Outbuildings located to the left return and rear are not of particular architectural or historical interest.
