Description

The reclining effigy, likely from the 14th century, is located against the west tower of the Church of St. James in Castle Eden. It is made of sandstone and depicts a mutilated figure of a monk or cleric, possibly Ivo de Seton, dressed in a cassock. The effigy rests on a double slab base that features chamfered and moulded upper edges.
