Description
Oxclose Farmhouse is a mid-19th century farmhouse built from coursed squared sandstone, featuring an ashlar plinth, quoins, and dressings. The roof is made of graduated Lakeland slate. The building has two storeys and three windows. The central entrance consists of a renewed door with a two-pane overlight set in a hollow reveal, flanked by paired eight-pane sash windows in deep chamfered reveals, all under label moulds. A prominent band runs along the first floor, and there is a wide gutter cornice. The low-pitched hipped roof is topped with two groups of three square ashlar chimneys, each with plinths and cornices. The rear elevation includes a central stair window that features intersecting glazing bars and a two-centred-arched stock-brick head. Inside, there is a dog-leg stair with a round handrail supported by stick balusters, a turned newel with a round cap, and shaped tread ends. All rooms are equipped with window shutters.
