Description
No. 24 Market Place is a house that has been converted into a shop and offices, dating from the late 19th century. It features thin courses of rock-faced stone with ashlar quoins and dressings, topped with a roof of Welsh slate that has stone gable copings and stone chimneys. The building stands three storeys high and has a two-window range. There is a corniced stone surround to the passage entrance on the left, while the shop front is from the 20th century. A large canted bay window with sashes and a cornice is located on the first floor, and there are two plain sashes on the second floor with flat stone lintels and sills, as well as alternate block jambs. The eaves have a gutter cornice, and the roof features stone gable copings on short curved kneelers, along with corniced end chimneys. The interior has not been inspected. This building is included for its group value.
