Description
No. 32 Claypath is a house, now used as offices, dating from around 1740. It is constructed of painted brick with painted stone dressings and has a Welsh slate roof. The building stands three storeys high and features two bays. There is a six-panelled door on the left, set within an architrave and topped by a bracketed pediment. To the left of the door is a narrow sash window, while to the right is a sash window, with two additional sash windows on each upper floor, all of which have flat brick arches and painted projecting stone sills. The building has wide brick floor strings and an eaves gutter board with a cast iron gutter. The roof is half-hipped on the left side, has swept eaves, and features a wide brick chimney at the rear.
Inside, there is a wide dog-leg staircase with a wide ramped grip handrail supported by turned balusters. The doors have architraves, and there are two 18th-century chimney pieces on the top floor. The entrance passage includes a dado with fielded panelling and a round-headed stair window.
