Description
Two houses, located at numbers 91 and 91A Claypath, were built in the late 18th century. They are constructed of Flemish bond brick with painted ashlar dressings, cast iron shop columns, and roofs covered with concrete tiles and Welsh slate. Each house is three stories tall and two bays wide.
Number 91 has a 19th-century shop front featuring a recessed central door with an overlight and sidelights, flanked by round-cornered windows. Slender columns support the upper floor, and there is an altered door to the right. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars, featuring wedge stone lintels and projecting stone sills. Stone gutter brackets are present. The roof is low-pitched, with an end chimney.
Number 91A, situated to the right, has an altered ground floor, but retains similar windows and gutter brackets to number 91. The roof is covered with Welsh slate. The buildings are included in the list for their group value.
